Artist Statement
Sonal Kantaria is a freelance photographer based in London and holds a Masters in Photojournalism from the University of Westminster. She specialises in editorial work covering contemporary documentary and portraiture both in the UK and abroad.
Her project Naseeb: Trafficked, undertaken in India on the subject of Human Trafficking into Prostitution, has been exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally and as a solo exhibition in 2012, presented by Autograph ABP and Next Level Projects. The work was also selected and exhibited by the Photographers Gallery London for FreshFacedandWildEyed11.
Sonal has undertaken an advertising commission for Cobra Beer and her work has been published by the FT Weekend Magazine, Saturday and Sunday Telegraph Magazines, Harpers Bazaar India, Scotland on Sunday Magazine, Africa Report, Foto 8, AG Magazine and CBM.
